ALEXANDRIA, VA (August 12, 2008) – Comtec (Europe) Ltd., The Travel Technology Company, in a move designed to establish its presence in North America, has named Denise Womble General Manager and Senior Vice President of the Americas, according to Richard Turner, Comtec’s Chief Operating Officer.

Womble is charged with building relationships with major travel retailers, suppliers and tour operators, as well as creating a greater awareness for Comtec in North America. She gained a familiarity with Comtec having worked alongside the company as it was creating and launching the ezguider platform for Vacation.com, an Amadeus company, where Womble served as vice president of membership services and technology for the past two years.

“We are very excited to have Denise Womble join us and head up our launch efforts here in North America,” said Turner, adding, “Denise has a wealth of industry, product and customer relationship experience, which will enable us to integrate the Comtec technology solutions that have been established in Europe with the travel industry in North America.”

Prior to Vacation.com, Womble served as managing director of customer support and telesales for the Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC), where she was credited with the restructuring of the organization’s call center to increase levels of customer satisfaction and service to travel agencies, corporations and carriers.

Before joining ARC, Womble was vice president of sales and reservations for Independence Air and director of sales and customer support for US Airways, where she implemented the carrier’s award-winning “On Call” agency support desk.

Womble began her career with Sabre Group/AMR Corporation in various positions, including managing director, agency installations and customer service; managing director, national account customer service; director, Sabre software and hardware help desk; and manager, travel agency accounting help desk. She received a B.A. from George Mason University in European Studies and French. She is also on the Board of Directors for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

She will focus on promoting and delivering Comtec’s award-winning technology products including Solutions for Tour Operators with Travelink, the leading activity and specialist tour operator and dynamic packaging solution and Solutions for Travel Suppliers using Travelgateway, which distributes suppliers content to the retail trade and Internet.
